Delta Flight Museum — this is an aviation and corporate museum located in Hapeville, Georgia, USA, near the main hub of Delta Air Lines — Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The museum is housed in two 1940s hangars at the Delta headquarters, which were recognized as a historic aerospace site in 2011. Its mission is to allow visitors from around the world to "explore the history of aviation, celebrate the history and people of Delta, and discover the future of flight." The museum's collections and exhibits feature over 40 airlines that are part of the Delta family. The museum is a nonprofit organization and relies on volunteers, corporate sponsors, donations, venue rentals, and merchandise sales.

Delta Flight Museum was established in 1995 as the Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum. In 2014, on the occasion of the airline's 85th anniversary, the museum was renovated and renamed Delta Flight Museum. Located at 1060 Delta Boulevard, Hapeville, GA 30354-1989, the museum is situated in close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, making it convenient for visitors.
The museum covers an area of 68,000 square feet and contains numerous exhibits reflecting the history of Delta and the development of commercial aviation. Among the main exhibits is a Douglas DC-3 aircraft named "Ship 41," operated by Delta from 1941 to 1958. After many years of service with various airlines, "Ship 41" was returned to Delta in 1993 and restored to flying condition. The museum also features a Boeing 747-400 named "Ship 6301," which was the first 747-400 built by Boeing and operated by Northwest Airlines and Delta until 2015. After retiring, the aircraft was moved to the museum, where it became part of the "The 747 Experience" exhibit.
Delta Flight Museum regularly hosts various events and activities. One of the most popular is the annual charity event "Hops in the Hangar," which celebrates the best craft beers from Georgia and other states. Tickets for this event are usually sold in advance, and all proceeds are directed to support the museum.
The museum is open to visitors daily from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, except Wednesdays when it is closed. The museum shop temporarily operates as a pop-up inside a Boeing 747 aircraft, with hours matching those of the aircraft. Visitors are advised to check the latest information on hours and exhibit availability on the museum's official website before planning a visit.
Delta Flight Museum offers a unique opportunity to delve into the history of aviation and learn more about the development of one of the world's largest airlines. It is an ideal place for aviation enthusiasts, historians, and families seeking an educational and exciting experience.
