The Akron Alternative Academy (AAA) program was specially developed for students seeking non-traditional pathways to obtain secondary education. It offers an alternative to the traditional school system for those who, for various reasons, cannot or do not want to attend regular classes. The program is focused on providing flexible learning opportunities tailored to the individual needs of each student, helping them achieve academic goals and successfully complete their education.

AAA employs a variety of methods and techniques aimed at maximizing each student's success. Among them are:
- Learning in small groups: This approach allows students to receive more attention from teachers, enabling better material comprehension and more personalized explanations.
- Individual tutoring: Each student can get additional help through one-on-one sessions with teachers, which allows focusing on specific issues and improving knowledge in individual subjects.
- Self-paced learning: AAA supports the opportunity for students to work at their own pace, organizing their learning independently and assimilating material at a convenient time.
- Computer-assisted learning: Modern technologies are used to support students in their educational process, providing access to various educational resources and interactive tools.
- Intensive preparation for the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT): The program includes special interventions to help students prepare for important graduation testing, ensuring successful completion of the OGT and obtaining their diploma.

AAA not only provides academic opportunities but also offers a wide range of additional services to support students in their personal and social lives. As part of the program, students have access to on-site services through collaboration with Greenleaf Family Services. Particular attention is paid to supporting pregnant students and young parents, students with special mental health needs, and those leading a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
To ensure close communication with students' families, AAA offers parents the option to subscribe to text messages, allowing them to receive important updates about school events, deadlines, and reminders of significant dates.
