Snow fell in northeastern Ohio after a winter storm; almost 11 inches fell in Chardon

CLEVELAND, Ohio - It is not surprising that some areas within the snow belt received the most snowfall after the recent winter storm.

According to the National Weather Service, in the very center of the snow belt, the city of Chardon in Geauga County received 10.7 inches of snow. Also in Geauga County, in the town of Russell, 9.6 inches fell, and in Burton - 8 inches.

In Ashtabula County, in the city of Pierpont, 10.5 inches were recorded. In Cuyahoga County, North Royalton leads with 7.6 inches, and Solon has 7 inches.

In some parts of Summit County, a large amount of snow was also recorded. In Stow, 9.3 inches fell; in Sagamore Hills - 9.2 inches; and in Hudson - 9 inches.

In Streetsboro, in Portage County, 9.5 inches were observed, and in Hinkley, in Medina County - 7.5 inches.

Despite the large amount of snow, most of it is expected to melt by Christmas morning. Temperatures over the next few days are forecasted to be around 40 degrees in warmth, reaching 50 degrees on Christmas Eve, with rain expected on Friday. The maximum temperature on Christmas Day will be about 53 degrees with a 40% chance of rain.
