Huntington Bank closes branch in Cleveland.

CLEVELAND, Ohio. On Friday, Huntington Bank announced the closure of 34 of its branches at the beginning of 2024, including three branches in Cleveland and seven in Ohio.

This news was disclosed in the bank's third-quarter financial report on Friday morning. However, we are aware that clients of these branches have already been informed about the upcoming changes.

Huntington, headquartered in Columbus, stated in its investor presentation that it is consolidating its branch network to cut costs. The 34 branches planned to close in the first three months of 2024 represent approximately 3% of Huntington's branches.

"We regularly analyze our banking network, make adjustments, and improve to ensure that our combination of branches, ATMs, online, and mobile banking continues to meet the evolving needs of our customers," said Chris Dall, a Huntington representative. "We are making every effort so that our employees can continue to be part of Huntington."

The closures will include the Huntington branch inside Berkman Hall at Cleveland State University, the branch on Euclid Avenue and East Ninth Street, as well as the branch at 11623 Buckeye Road in the Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood.

Huntington Bank is also closing a branch in Canton located at 608 Raffa Road SW, and three other branches in Youngstown, Warren, and Genoa.

Huntington Bank reported a profit of $547 million in the third quarter, compared to $594 million in the third quarter of last year.
